Michigan From the Heart held our 16th annual golf outing on June 16th at the University of Michigan golf course and all would agree it was a great success. With over 112 golfers and dozens of sponsors we were able to celebrate our 21st year of service and helped to continue to fund our future projects.

We humbly thank the many companies and volunteers who help with all the hard work and donations. We especially thank Outback Steakhouse, who has generously sponsored the dinner portion of the event over the years as well as legendary U of M golf course Clubhouse Manager Charlie Green for helping organize the event.  But what was really exciting about this year’s event is that we had so many of the current Michigan student-athletes stop by to say hi to the golfers and thank them for supporting our all-volunteer organization.

These young men and women impress all that meet them and it was great to have them come out and greet our supporters and share their experiences. And knowing how college kids like to sleep in, we really appreciate them coming in from early morning on and help in running the day’s events!

In addition, our guests were able to meet former Michigan football greats Jamar Adams and Zoltan Mesko, as well as the always gracious Michigan Head Football Coach Brady Hoke. All three took photos with the golfers and autographed footballs provided as part of the golfer’s S.W.A.G. for the day.

If you were out there you had a great time. If you missed it, make it out next year!

Congratulations Michigan from the Heart – and to Dan Dapprich and Allyson Doan for all their
hard work in organizing this year’s spectacular event.
